The company was founded in the early 1990’s by Michael Curran Senior. Michael had worked for many years within the Industry, for large Building and Construction Companies and principally in the capacity of Contracts Manager.
Such was the experience and knowledge gained at companies such as Cape Contracts, Marino Industrial Coatings and Fire Control Ltd. where Michael was responsible for overseeing projects at Shannon Aerospace, King Johns Castle and St Stevens Hospital for the Eastern Health Board, he was encouraged by contacts made within the Industry to branch out on his own. His first large contract was East Point Business Park where Pierse Construction was the main Contractor and comprised 22 office blocks for Scott Tallon Walker, Architects.
Michael Curran Passive Fire Protection are one of the leading supplier and installers of Fire Protection, Insulation, Acoustic and Airtight systems to most of the major construction companies in Ireland (Pierse Contracting, Michael McNamara, Bowen Construction, BAM, JJRhatigans and Glenbeigh Construction).
Michael prides himself on ensuring that no short cuts are taken with regard to the quality of products he uses and the service he provides. Everything is fully certificated.
In the last ten years the company has gone from strength to strength. Michael’s son, Michael Junior joined the company in 1994 and become a director of the Company in 2004. Michael Jnr is principally responsible for overseeing the operational side of the Business whilst Michael Snr deals with the day to day management of same.
In recent years PFP has developed an expertise in the application of Intumescent paint and is now one of the leading Intumescent paint spraying companies in the Industry in Ireland.
The company has approximately 20 workers who are employed on a number of sites on projects the Company is involved with at any particular time. PFP employees are a highly professional team, who are fully trained in all aspects of fire protection, Insulation, Acoustic and Airtight systems. Again, the company prides itself on actively encouraging all of its staff to be members of the trade union and pension schemes for the construction sector and complies with industry requirements in this regard.
